Love it or hate it, it’s nearly that time of year again. The X Factor will soon be returning to our screens and ITV aren’t gonna let it escape your attention.
Looking a little lower budget than previous years, this series 13 promo trailer features old clips of judges and contestants saying ‘No’ over the 1993 dance track ‘No Limit’.
Recorded by the Dutch Eurodance duo 2 Unlimited, the song was a number 1 hit in many European countries, including on the UK singles chart.
Originating from Amsterdam, 2 Unlimited’s line-up is made up of male rapper Ray Slijngaard and female vocalist Anita Doth. Despite having released multiple hit tracks in the 90’s, No Limit unsurprisingly remains the bands biggest success.
With Simon Cowell having seemingly given up on hiring fresh young faces to try and re-energize the show, this years judging line-up will see him joined by returnies Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger. Even Dermot O’Leary is back to replace the experimental duo of Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.
So with live finals ratings having gone down considerably over the last few years and no brand new judges to draw attention, Simon and ITV should be hoping for some serious signing talent to save the day.
When does X Factor 2016 start?
The X Factor UK is due to begin airing later this summer, with the series official start date expected to be set for late August. Exact ITV premiere dates are not usually announced until around 10 days before.
The above ‘NO LIMITS’ video premiered on ITV’s official YouTube channel on the 15th of July.
