Top Gear Advert Song 2016 – Video, song and band details for BBC Two’s all-new ‘The Wait Is Almost Over’ series launch trailer.

Advert Song Title: I Just Want To Celebrate.

Artist/Band: Rare Earth.

Available To Download From: Amazon and iTunes.

For all you Top Gear fans wondering if the show can possibly be worth watching in this post-Clarkson, Hammond and May era, the wait is almost over.

A couple of months after the motoring programmes extensive new presenter line-up (too long to list here) was announced, BBC Two have today revealed the first official trailer for the 2016 series.

Featured in the advert are lead hosts Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc and Sabine Schmitz getting up to the type of high-octane antics the show’s become famous for around the world. We also see the return of Top Gear’s one constant in these times of great change – The Stig.

The video promo finishes with Chris appearing to be sick after Sabine has taken him out for a spin around the track. So does the DJ and TFI Friday host have the stomach for his new role?

The soundtrack to this long-awaited commercial is provided by the American band Rare Earth, with their 1971 song ‘I Just Want to Celebrate’. You may remember this track has also featured in a TV advert for NiQuitin Minis. As we mentioned when covering that ad, Rare Earth are a Detroit-based blues-rock band who were previously known as The Sunliners.

Top Gear’s 1-minute launch trailer was posted to the official BBC YouTube channel on the 31st of March, 2016 and will no doubt meet with mixed reviews. Though lots of fans will be eager to see what the new line-up can do, many Clarkson loyalists will simply see the new series as a poor imitation.

We’re still yet to discover Top Gear’s exact 2016 start date, but it certainly appears the new series will be premiering before Amazon Prime’s rival production.
