The Halcyon ITV Theme Music – 2017 TV Drama Series

The Halcyon Theme Tune – Soundtrack and singer details for ITV’s new eight-part period drama starring Kara Tointon, Alex Jennings, Steven Mackintosh, Olivia Williams and Hermione Corfield.

Hailed as ITV’s replacement to the much loved Downton AbbeyThe Halcyon is a brand new period drama premiering in January, 2017.

For its theme song, the series uses an original piece of music called ‘Hourglass’ from film and television composer Samuel Sim, and featuring vocals from singer/actress Tracy Kashi.

Played during the shows opening credits sequence and featuring the lyrics ‘Falling sands raining down’, Hourglass is available to download now either as a single, or as part of ‘The Halcyon (Original Music From The Television Series)’ album.


This complete 16-song soundtrack also includes two numbers from singer-songwriter Jamie Cullum: ‘Forever’ and ‘Invincible’.

Set during World War Two, The Halcyon tells the story of a stylish five star hotel at the centre of London society. With secrets and scandal abound, aristocrats and spies mingle in lavish surroundings with poor staff.

Episode 1’s opening scene, which you can watch in the video above, sees actress Kara Tointon performing as hotel jazz singer Betsey Day, while singer Beverley Knight is also due to make an on-screen guest appearance later in the series.
