Nationwide Apple Pay Advert Music 2015 – Singer and song information for the building societies new TV commercial.
Song Title: You Can Do Magic.
Group/Singer: Limmie & Family Cookin’.
The tune used in this TV ad for Nationwide Apple Pay is called ‘You Can Do Magic’ and it’s performed by the American pop group Limmie & Family Cookin’. You can listen to the full length track at the bottom of this page.
The original recording of this track does not currently appear to be available to purchase, but you can download a sound-a-like cover version from Amazon.
Comprising of singer Limmie Snell and his family, this 1970’s pop line-up actually achieved greater chart success here in Britain than in their native America.
Along with ‘You Can Do Magic’, which reached number 3 in the UK singles charts, the family also managed a number 6 hit with a cover of The Essex’s song ‘A Walking Miracle’.
This advert from Nationwide, that should begin airing on TV in early October, 2015, is the latest in a long line of Apple Pay banking commercials. Previous ads have come from such companies as HSBC and NatWest/Royal Bank of Scotland.
Presumably after its UK release, we’ll also be seeing a fresh batch of TV adverts for Google’s new Android Pay. Technology eh.
The new Apple Pay service should be open to all iPhone owning Nationwide debit and credit card customers.
Limmie & Family Cookin’ – You Can Do Magic
The lyrics from this song that you hear sung in the advert are: ‘You can do magic. You took the raindrops that filled my eyes. And put them back up in the skies, and then made the grey skies turn blue. You can do magic.’
