For those of you television viewers getting tired of the recent ‘Strutter’s V Builders’ #EpicSquads advert, you’ll be pleased to see MoneySuperMarket are back better than ever with their new ‘Epic Skeletor’ campaign.
Instantly my favourite ever ad from the price comparison website, the film sees 80’s cartoon baddie Skeletor celebrate saving money at MoneySuperMarket.com with some epic real world dance moves.
Busting out of his suburban property, Skeletor’s rather inappropriate gyrating is surely more disturbing than any of his evil plots back in Eternia.
Now sporting a pair of shades which, to be honest rather suit him, the Masters of the Universe antagonist then hands his staff to a schoolboy so he can concentrate on busting some serious moves.
After dancing his way down the local high street, Skeletor passes his archenemy He-Man, who then draws his sword and declares “By the power of Grayskull. Skeletor, you’re so Money Supermarket.”
The soundtrack to this advert is provided by the American singer Irene Cara, with her 1980 pop song ‘Fame’, which famously served as the theme music to the movie of the same name.
Boosted by the films success, Fame the song went on to top the UK singles chart and sell over one million records.
The above 60-second ‘#EpicSkeletor – He-Man’ MoneySuperMarket commercial is due to begin airing on TV in late March, 2017. We’re not sure who the actors starring in this ad are, but the guy playing He-Man sure does look familiar.
