McDonald’s Advert Music 2015 – Band and song information for the ‘Good Times’ Christmas TV ad. #JourneyToChristmas
Song Title: I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.
OK, so there’s no mystery surrounding the soundtrack to McDonald’s Christmas 2015 advert, with the fast food chain going with Wizzard’s 1973 classic ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’.
For anyone unfortunate enough to work somewhere that has a radio playing, with no control over the channel, you’ll probably hear this and many other seasonal tracks about a thousand times between now and the New Year. This experience can be either heaven or hell, depending on your festive cheer and taste in music.
Written by Wizzard’s lead singer Roy Wood, the English glam rock band achieved a number 4 hit with this song in its year of release, with the track now re-entering the chart around Christmas time virtually every year. It just goes to show that any band or singer who manage to record a popular festive tune, are pretty much made for life.
This new commercial for McDonald’s shows a family travelling in their car as they go away for Christmas. Much to the dads disapproval, the aforementioned piece of music playing on the radio leads to an impromptu sing-along.
After reasoning that the group can’t continue singing if their mouths are full of food, the dad decides to stop in at a nearby McDonald’s drive-thru.
The video, which was added to the restaurants YouTube channel on the 20th of November, 2015, ends with the slogan ‘good times’ and asks the question: Could your singing make our Christmas Day advert?
