KFC’s new ‘Bring Home The Weekend’ advert features a song from 1965 called ‘Five O’Clock World’.

Written by the American record producer Allen Reynolds, the track is performed by Pennsylvanian vocal group The Vogues.

Five O’Clock World went on to become a big hit in North America, topping the Canadian singles chart and reaching number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

At the time this song was recorded, The Vogues were a four-piece rock and roll/pop group from Pittsburgh.

Some of the bands other hit singles include ‘Turn Around, Look at Me’, ‘You’re The One’ and ‘Magic Town’.

This retro style KFC ad shows a man roller skating home from work on a sunny Friday afternoon, of course picking up a bucket of fried chicken along the way.

Uploaded to the KFC UK and Ireland YouTube page on the 12th of May, 2016, ‘Rollerskater’ follows on from the companies recent ‘Take 5 Box’, ‘Double Zinger Stacker‘ and ‘Double Bucket Deal‘ commercials.
