HSBC Mortgages Advert Music 2015 – Singer and song details for the ‘One Day Mortgage Approval Service’ TV commercial.
Song Title: What a Difference a Day Makes.
Artist/Singer: Dinah Washington.
The song was originally written in Spanish way back in 1934, though this particular English version wasn’t released until 1959. In addition to reaching number 1 in the US Billboard R&B chart and number 8 in the Hot 100, this recording also earned Dinah Washington a Grammy for Best Rhythm and Blues Performance.
The commercial is set in a small seaside fishing town and shows a girl handing out house warming party invites, despite the house having not even been built yet.
As the day progresses we see a flat pack wooden house quickly being assembled, then just as darkness begins to fall, the girls home is completed and the party can begin.
Though not promising to build you a new house in 24 hours, HSBC do now offer a One Day Mortgage Approval Service.
The above full-length ‘Invitation’ video was added to HSBC’s UK YouTube channel on the 9th of October, 2015.
The lyrics sung in the advert are: ‘What a difference a day made, twenty-four little hours. Brought the sun and the flowers, where there used to be rain. My yesterday was blue dear, today I’m a part of you dear. My lonely nights are through dear, since you said you were mine.’
