Lacoste Advert Music 2016 – Song and singer details for the ‘Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Pour Elle Sparkling, Elegant or Natural’ women’s fragrance collection commercial.

Song Title: Tainted Love.

Artist/Singer: Gloria Jones.

Available For Download From: iTunes and Amazon.

This current Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 TV ad features the original version of a song called ‘Tainted Love’.

Performed by the American singer-songwriter Gloria Jones, this track was first recorded in 1965 as the B-side to the single ‘My Bad Boy’s Comin’ Home’.

After initially failing to achieve chart success, the song then gained popularity years later on Britain’s northern soul music scene. This led to the single being re-released in 1976, but again enjoying little success.

It wasn’t until 1981, when the English synthpop duo Soft Cell recorded a very different sounding cover, that Tainted Love first became a chart hit.

A number of artists have since covered the song in their own personal styles, including the American rock musician Marilyn Manson in 2001.

The above commercial for L.12.12 Pour Elle showcases Eau de Lacoste’s new Sparkling, Elegant and Natural fragrance collection for women.

Although this advert was first posted to the Lacoste YouTube channel back in November, 2015, it appears to have only just begun airing during UK TV ad breaks.
