Doctor Foster is a new five-part BBC drama starring ‘Scott & Bailey’ actress Suranne Jones as Dr Jenny Foster, a respected GP who suspects her husband Simon (Bertie Carvel) of having an affair.

The track used in the trailer (above) for this new BBC1 series is called ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ and it’s performed by Paloma Faith. Released in 2012, where it went on to reach number 16 in the official UK singles charts, the song is a cover version of Australian rock group INXS’s 1988 hit of the same name.

Other popular tunes from the retro-style English singer include: ‘New York’, ‘Picking Up the Pieces’ and arguably her best so far ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’.

Adding to the Paloma Faith-BBC connection, around a week before this trailer came out, the 34-year-old diva was announced as a coach for the 2016 series of The Voice UK. Following the loss of Rita Ora to The X Factor and the BBC’s controversial decision to drop long-running judge Sir Tom Jones, Paloma joins Ricky Wilson, will.i.am and fellow newbie Boy George in the series 5 line-up.

Here’s the full-length official video for Paloma Faith’s version of Never Tear Us Apart:

The music played during the opening credits of Doctor Foster is a song called ‘Fly’ by the Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi.

Another one of Einaudi’s many pieces ‘The Earth Prelude’, is currently featuring as the soundtrack to Guinness’ 2015 advert with Gareth Thomas.
