Android Advert Music – ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ Commercial

Android Commercial Music 2016 – Video, singer and song details for the new ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ TV and YouTube ad. #NotTheSame

Song Title: St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion).

Artist/Singer: John Parr.

Available To Download From: iTunes and Amazon.

This great new ad for Android features the 1985 track ‘St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion)’, performed by the English singer John Parr.

The unmistakably 80’s rock ballad comes from the original soundtrack to Joel Schumacher’s coming-of-age film St. Elmo’s Fire. The single proved to be a massive hit, particularly in America, where it topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks. Parr’s record also earned a Grammy nomination and a number 6 hit in the UK singles chart.

Android’s clever new advert only makes sense once you realise its storyline is inspired by the game Rock, Paper, Scissors. In other words, paper’s scared of scissors, rock’s scared of paper and scissors are scared of rock.

The film begins with a nervous piece of paper arriving for what appears to be his first day at a new school. After making his way past some unfriendly looking scissors, he gets to what he expects to be a group of more welcoming sheets of paper. Unfortunately this group turn out to be even less pleasant than the scissors.

While being bullied, this little piece of paper is saved by an unlikely ally – a pair of scissors. Finally, while walking home from school, the pair come across a small rock being teased by two bigger rocks. This time roles are reversed, with scissors afraid and paper stepping in to save the day.

This latest ‘Be Together, Not The Same’ commercial was posted to Android’s official YouTube channel on the 28th of February, 2016.
